Your witty hosts, Nicholyn and Farrell, kept the energy high throughout the day, guiding you through the two main stages: conquering the corporate jungle and becoming an app mastermind.

First up, we ventured into the corporate world with Ricky Sucitra, the Human Capital Strategy Leader at PwC. Ricky, your guide to the big leagues, spilled the tea on everything from crafting a stellar resume to acing those high-pressure interviews. Need to join the PwC fam? Ricky revealed the secrets – think killer interview skills, a can-do attitude, and rocking those extracurricular activities during your college years.

He also dove deeper, discussing the unique work cultures in different types of companies, such as large corporations, agencies, multinationals, and startups. Ricky explained how these cultures influence work style and interactions, highlighting the importance of finding a good fit for your personality and career goals. But work isn’t everything! Ricky emphasized the importance of work-life balance by setting boundaries to maintain mental and physical health. For fresh graduates, he noted that PwC looks for well-rounded individuals with high GPAs, organizational experience, relevant internships, a proactive approach, and even teaching assistant experience. Networking was another key theme. Ricky sees networking as a long-term investment, and advised active participation in networking events and leveraging LinkedIn to build connections. He stressed the need for confidence and preparation in interviews, suggesting candidates view themselves as equals to interviewers and showcase their value proposition.For long-term success, Ricky underscored the importance of resilience, self-awareness, and continuous learning. He suggested staying with one company for several years to build these qualities and gain valuable experience.

In the afternoon, we shifted gears with Herman Suharto, the CEO of Youtap POS. Herman’s journey from employee to entrepreneur was inspiring, and he shared the nitty-gritty of building a successful app business. Inspired by the opportunities in the digital era, particularly for SMEs in Indonesia, Herman felt compelled to help businesses transition.He emphasized the importance of a strong foundation in business understanding, coding skills, and data management. The process of building an app involves meticulous planning, including market research, product development, testing, and launching, with trackers embedded in each button to measure user interaction and optimize the user experience. YouApp initially collaborated with major companies like McDonald’s and Bank Mandiri, using organic campaigns and affiliations to boost brand awareness. Moving forward, YouApp aims to become a one-stop solution for business needs, focusing on streamlining payments and supply chains. Herman even revealed their exciting partnership with Salim Group for stock integration. Herman highlighted the importance of data security and app relevance, with algorithms displaying content tailored to user needs. YouApp continually adapts to new technologies and uses data to drive innovation. As CEO, Herman faces challenges in managing divisions, ensuring efficient processes, and providing opportunities for team growth.
