The first day of PPI’s Arunika event was a gastronomic delight, transforming the Monash campus into a vibrant Indonesian food bazaar. The event was a heartwarming initiative to bring a taste of home to Indonesian students who were unable to return to their homeland.

The bazaar was a visual spectacle, with a charming photobooth setup to capture unforgettable memories. The highlight, however, was the delectable array of Indonesian food on offer, generously sponsored by renowned local establishments such as Pondok Nasi Bakar, Groceries88, FS Kitchen, Mie Ayam King, Star 118, Pudding Lumut, and Mang Ujang.

Indulge in the savory delights of batagor, mie ayam, Ayam geprek, and Ayam penyet. Satisfy your sweet tooth with irresistible treats like risoles, creampuffs, bakwan jagung, tahu isi, and martabak coklat cheese. Quench your thirst with refreshing Indonesian beverages like teh botol sosro and other traditional drinks.

The food bazaar was more than just a culinary experience; it was a gathering of Indonesian students who found solace and comfort in the familiar flavors of their homeland. The event served as a reminder of the strong bonds that unite Indonesians, even when they are far from home. PPI’s Arunika Day 1 was a resounding success, showcasing the rich and diverse culinary heritage of Indonesia. It was a heartwarming initiative that brought joy and a sense of belonging to Indonesian students at Monash.
